Facts about the human body!

-The human body consist of mostly water. 80%
-The average human brain has about a 100 billion nerve cells
- In order to produce human speech, you have to use about 72 different muscles.
-When born the human has 300 bones, and as you grow that come together and you then have 206.
-The body has 3 different types of muscles
Skeletal- Voluntary meaning the human controls what it does.
Smooth- Involuntary meaning they are automatically controlled
Cardiac- Muscle that are around the heart muscle.

The human body has been study for thousands of years, but not one person will never be able to know everything about the human. When born the has around 300 bones, and as the human body grows and their structure changes so does the bone and muscles. When you become an adult you will then have 206 bones and between 635 - 835 muscles. The whole body is functioned by the brain. The brain has about 100 billion nerve cells and about 400 billion brain cells.

In order to keep you body health and functioning correctly, you must take the proper steps in doing so. At time people my not know how to take care of themselves. An important factor is to make sure you eat the right amount of calories each day. Calories very with each person depending on their weight and age. There are 5 different food groups. Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, Dairy, and Proteins. Each one of theses five groups should be eaten with every meal. To allow that you have eaten health. The other thing you should do is try and exercise daily. With exercise you will keep you muscle tone and allow you body to be strong. Also to burn off unneeded fat.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

The digestive system starts as soon as you start to chew your food. Whole foods that we eat such as pizza and meats must be form into a different structure so that our bodies can get the nutritions from the foods that are needed to keep our bodies healthy. When you swallow your food it then goes into the small intestine where it continues to break down even more. Then travels to the large intestines.
Function Step By Step
1. Food and liquid that you eats is stored in the upper part of the stomach
2. Food is then mixed up in the lower part of the stomach
3. Food is lastly emptied into the small intestines.
- Depending on the type of food will allow you to know when the foods will leave you stomach. When fats are eaten they will stay in longer than carbohydrates and proteins because they have to travel through out the body faster that fats and sugars.

The gallbladder is a pear- shaped organ that stores liquids made by the lives so that fats can digest. Gallbladder cancer is very rare. If you feel pain in you stomach, have sever nausea and vomiting and lumps in the abdomen you may have gallbladder cancer. If you ever feel like you are have uncontrollable pains in your body the best thing is to go see you doctor as soon as possible.

Respiratory System

The primary function of the respiratory system is to supply the blood with oxygen so blood can be to deliver to all the parts of the body. This is done through breathing. When we breathe, we inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. This exchange of gases is the respiratory system's means of getting oxygen to the blood. The average adult's lungs contain about 600 million of these spongy, air-filled sacs that are surrounded by capillaries.

Lung Cancer is a disease that has to do completely with the lungs.respiratory_anatomy.jpg Lung cancer is the deadliest type of cancer for both men and women. Lung cancer is more common in older adults. It is rare in people under age 45.The more cigarettes you smoke per day and the earlier you started smoking, the greater your risk of lung cancer. There is no evidence that smoking low-tar cigarettes lowers the risk. However, lung cancer has occurred in people who have never smoked.Secondhand smoke (breathing the smoke of others) increases your risk of lung cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 3,000 nonsmoking adults will die each year from lung cancer related to breathing secondhand smoke.

Nervous System

The nervous system is a very complex system in the body. It is divided into 2 main systems. The central nervous system which is made up of the brain and the spinal cord. Its main function is to control the body and send out instructions. The peripheral nervous system is made up of the nerves in the body. Its main function is to send messages from the brain to the rest of the body.

Muscular System

The main job of the muscular system is to provide movement for the body. The muscular system consist of three different types of muscle tissues : skeletal, cardiac, smooth. Each of these different tissues has the ability to contract, which then allows body movements and functions. There are two types of muscles in the system and they are the involuntary muscles, and the voluntary muscles. The muscle in which we are allow to control by ourselves are called the voluntary muscles and the ones we can? control are the involuntary muscles. The heart, or the cardiac muscle, is an example of involuntary muscle.

Skeletal System

Skeletal system is all of the bones in the body and the tissues such as tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connect them.
Your teeth are also considered part of your skeletal system but they are not counted as bones. Your teeth are made of enamel and dentin. Enamel is the strongest substance in your body. The main job of the skeleton is to provide support for our body. Without your skeleton your body would collapse into a heap. Your skeleton is strong but light.

Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones starts to decrease its strength and resulting in fragile bones. Osteoporosis literally leads to abnormally porous bone that is compressible, like a sponge. This disorder of the skeleton weakens the bone and results in frequent fractures in the bones. Osteopenia is a condition of bone that is slightly less dense than normal bone but not to the degree of bone in osteoporosis.

Circulatory System

The circulatory system is made up of the vessels and muscles to help control blow flow. The main parts are the heart, arteries and veins. As blood begins to circulate, it leaves the heart from the left ventricle and goes into the aorta. The aorta is the largest artery in the body. The blood leaving the aorta is full of oxygen. This is important for the cells in the brain and the body to do their work. The oxygen rich blood travels throughout the body in its system of arteries into the smallest arterioles.

On its way back to the heart, the blood travels through a system of veins. As it reaches the lungs, the carbon dioxide is then removed from the blood and replace with fresh oxygen that we have inhaled through the lungs.
